Albuquerque, New Mexico

Welcome to the Land of Enchantment!

Large_albuquerque_skyline_large_d4e12a68-18f5-4feb-a524-261a239925a7.jpg

Albuquerque’s story is etched into the high‑desert landscape, beginning with the Indigenous peoples who have cared for this land for thousands of years along the Rio Grande. In 1706, Spanish settlers founded the villa that grew into Old Town, with its adobe church, central plaza, and winding streets that are still at the heart of the city today. Later, Route 66 brought travelers, neon signs, and a new kind of energy, and now every fall the Balloon Fiesta fills the sky with color, reminding us how long people have been coming here to gather and celebrate the wonders of our city.

Whether you are walking the historic plaza or watching the Sandias turn their signature watermelon pink, you’ll find that ALEGRÍA is deeply rooted in the warmth and resilience of the New Mexican spirit.

By getting married at ALEGRÍA, you are joining a legacy of celebration and love that spans centuries. We are honored to host your milestone amidst this rich tapestry of culture, and can't wait to celebrate you!

New Mexico offers high-desert climate: bright sun by day and cool breezes by night. Pack light linen for the afternoon and a light jacket for the evening. Stay hydrated—the altitude is roughly 5,300 feet.

Weather

Albuquerque is a driver-friendly city. We recommend renting a car at ABQ Sunport or using rideshare services like Uber and Lyft. Local transportation includes the ART bus, which is free and runs up & down the Central corridor.
